Kris Kringle of Carmel

 ‘Tis the Season. Since today is Christmas tree lighting day in downtown Carmel By The Sea I thought I’d keep with the theme and visit Carmel’s year-round Christmas shop: Kris Kringle of Carmel. Kris Kringle is located in one of the coveted Ocean Avenue store fronts – in the Doud Arcade - and has been in business for over 20 years (I’m not sure how long they’ve been in their current location, but from walking past it for year, I can tell you it’s a long time). Actually, heading to Kris Kringle was Graham’s idea – we’ve been on the hunt for some additional stocking holders for our mantel – and lucky me, Graham was in town today so he wandered over to the store with me.

This shop is well stocked with a fun selection of ornaments, nutcrackers, Santa’s, holiday games and festive decorations. If you want to have your ornament personalized, Kris Kringle will do it for free! What I didn’t know is this store specializes in ‘assisting collectors in building their {Christmas} collections’. Ha, now I better understand the year-round appeal for the customers wanting to add to their personal holiday collections. Kris Kringle is a ‘showcase dealer of Department 56, with the entire Heritage Village Collection as well as Snow Village’.  I have no clue about those brands, but I’m guessing if you are in to this stuff then this store would be your mecca!

Unfortunately we weren’t able to find stocking holders we wanted but we had fun looking around and taking in the holiday vibe. After all, ‘Tis the season…
