Artemis Boots

A couple of months ago I was walking on San Carlos and saw the absolutely captivating window display for Artemis Boots. The textures, the colors, the styles, this shop is positively bursting with color and I was excited to finally go in today and check it out.  If you are in the market for beautifully crafted custom boots then this shop is for you. These boots are handmade and manufactured in Istanbul, Turkey. As soon as I entered the store Melanie greeted me and told me a little about craftsmanship of the boots featuring various toe and heel designs.

I was only in the shop for a few minutes when the owner Erkan Demir walked in. I introduced myself and he told me a bit more about the product. Without a doubt, Erkan is passionate about his native Turkey and proud to have such a beautiful product line. According to Erkan, “The Artemis Collection is designed to allow a woman to express her personality with distinctive, unique footwear. Each pair is handmade, so the woman who wears Artemis owns a piece of art for her soles.”

While the embroidery is stunningly beautiful, I really loved the simplicity of these gorgeous black and white tall leather boots. Unfortunately my camera was not cooperating so I wasn’t able to snap a photo. Must. Go. Back.

In addition to Artemis Boots, Erkan also owns a Turkish rug shop…but I will save that for another post.

Artemis Boots is located in the Doud Arcade - on San Carlos between Ocean and 7th.

And as a final note, in case you are curious what Artemis means, I looked it up: (Greek mythology) the virgin goddess of the hunt and the Moon; daughter of Leto and twin sister of Apollo; identified with Roman Diana
